There are many reasons I love being a Close to My Heart consultant. So many reasons that I've been doing this for over TWENTY YEARS! I know, hard to imagine.

Well, one of the great blessings has been the association with some really great people. Melanie Carroll is one of those people. She was part of my team, or downline, for several years and I loved that relationship. Always genuine. Always upbeat. Always kind and generous of spirit.

Hard to believe that it was FIVE YEARS AGO (already!)

that my twin grand-daughters were born.

Made a pennant banner using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge

and CTMH Sophia papers. The girls thought it was super-fun!

We celebrated last weekend - their mommy providing

the yummiest cake....

Are they so cute, or what?!

It's so fun to watch them be silly.

I love the sound of their giggles!

Wrap It Up!

If you check out the dollar aisle of your local Michael's store, you'll probably find these little chocolate boxes that are perfect for covering. I used the Roxie papers from Close to My Heart. The swirl shape, heart and medallion were cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.

Problem Solved!

When I got married (decades ago), the "hot" wedding gift to give seemed to be a cheese board with glass dome (we got several). So when the holiday's rolled around and we were preparing for Christmas Eve festivities, found myself wishing I still had one of those cheese domes. Here's where I got creative....

Searching through various serving bowls located this inexpensive plastic bowl that surely was meant to be disposable (it even had an insurance logo on it!). Using the Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge, I cut and stamped some decorative parts to cover up the logo. Then using a Craft Jar and some Liquid Glass (something my husband refers to as "liquid duct tape", LOL), I glued the jar to create a knob on the make-shift dome.

Here's how it turned out:

Holiday Reflections

Once the holidays hit, it seemed like time absolutely flew by!

So now I'm playing "catch-up" and sharing some of my favorite Holiday moments caught with my trusty little camera...

Starting with a visit to Santa:

And my mom was visited by some cute little reindeer (we took her a framed picture of the kids with Santa-- she loved it!):

The day we finished with our Christmas decorating:

(okay, so I love snowmen and have collected a few over the years....LOL.... I'm now starting to collect Christmas moose... mooses?.... meese? what IS the plural?!)

And then there was the weekend I stamped, sponged and glittered 90 snowflakes to help my daughter with her church Christmas party (it was really quite fun doing these while watching Hallmark Christmas movies):

Of course there was the frequent "assessments" to see what was under the Christmas tree (which was a good indicator as to how close it was to Christmas Day, giggle):

Another memorable day was the play date with my twin grand-daughters where we painted a Christmas picture and then frosted & decorated sugar cookies:

The day some very bad puppies got up on my craft table and helped themselves to my carefully prepared chocolate treats (meant for my customers!):

And finally, Christmas morning.... enjoying the laughs & giggles:

What's NOT to love about animal prints & the richness of Hollyhock pink and Tulip red?! Combined with a little "bling" and my heart sings!!

I love this little box.

It's a great size for storing lots of things like cards, or pens, or cricut tools, or post-it note pads, or desk accessories, or sugar-free candies.... okay, you get the idea, right?

Found some interesting material on the web recently that I wanted to share because the author put into words what I've FELT for years.

Summer Memories

Finally the temperatures have simmered down (no more 90's-- yay!) Since I'm enjoying cooler temperatures, decided this would be the perfect time to catch up on some summer fun from 2011.

In August, we celebrated our 30th Anniversary (gee, that makes us sound OLD!) and we took off for a week in Maui. We did a "few" touristy things --- like the Maui Ocean Center (very interesting and a huge aquarium!) and a local Luau in Old Lahaina.

We've attended quite a few Luau's over the years, and we both agreed that THIS one had the best food! Yum! And the sunset setting was incredible.

We really worked the "R&R" plan.... love that Hawaiian pace & no-worries lifestyle.

And how easy were these layouts.... thank you, Studio J!

Each night I'd upload the days' photos and create the layout.

At the end of the vacation, my album was done and being printed.

and specifically, paying special tribute to my first DL Leaders:

Just returned from THE BIG DANCE.... the big shabang that basketball fans look forward to, right?

Our entire subdivision is being re-plumbed.... one house at a time.

It was our turn at the end of May and being the scrapbooker that I am,

of course I took lots of photos (and shared many of them here).

Well, couldn't resist scrapbooking the ordeal.

Created this layout in Studio J.

LOVE the simplicity of dragging and dropping my photos into the photo wells.

I can "try them on" and move pictures from one well to another in a click of a button until I'm happy with the result.

Convention Teaser

As a Close to My Heart Consultant, one of the BIGGEST events of the year that ALL consultants look forward to is CONVENTION. This is a time when we get sneak peeks at new products on the horizon, cutting edge training, opportunities for TEAM parties....and it's all just LOTS OF FUN.

Each year the company hosts this event for CTMH consultants and the location often changes from year-to-year. For instance, last year (2010) we celebrated Convention in Washington DC. It was amazing! THIS YEAR, we're going to the opposite coast and will be at DISNEYLAND!

I've been working for WEEKS on preparations for my TEAM PARTY. Here's a little tease:

Tips for Better Journaling

What matters the most in a photo album/ scrapbook?

The photos, right?

And second to photos would be the JOURNALING.

The "why" the photos are important to you.

The "where" the photos were taken.

The "who" are in the photos.

And so on.

It's not uncommon for a scrapbook enthusiast to be a bit daunted when it comes to journaling.

But journaling can be fun! So unlock your inner creative writer by trying some of these tips:

Make journaling a family affair. Ask your spouse and your children about their favorite remembrances of holidays, vacations, birthdays and family traditions. Then record them or ask them to write it in their own handwriting.

Journaling can be traditional - recorded in a block of cardstock, or it can wiggle and flow around the page -- even along the edges of the layout. Have fun. Get creative.

Journaling can also be tucked away -- perhaps behind a photo with a "pull tab," or in a pocket created on the page.

The typical WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE and WHY tells most of the story in the photo. But remember to pen your feelings, talk about the tastes of the food, the sound of the laughter, the colors of the landscape. Create a secondary picture with your descriptive words.

Sometimes we like to have journaling nice and neat and in a cute font.

This is fun and makes your pages look crisp. However, there is a lot of value in archiving your penmanship. I have letters in my grandmother's handwriting that are absolutely precious to me. Not only does it have sentimental value, it's fun to see the similarities in her writing style and my own.

Creating a "word puzzle" on your layout is a fun way to capture the feelings you have about the photograph. Stamping a mix of words or adding mixed media (chipboard letters, stickers, hand writing, etc.) makes your layout interesting and unique. Close to My Heart's Studio J (online scrapbooking) makes it easy to create a variety of journaling blocks and fit them together as a puzzle.

Writers block? Step away from the layout and come back with fresh eyes. If that doesn't work, try looking at it from the perspective of an outsider. What would they notice about the people and landscapes in the photo? What would you want them to know about the photos? Last resort, bring in a third party and have them ask you questions about what's happening in the pictures to help jog your memory.

What RUINS Photos?

SUNLIGHT or ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT

Photographs fade quickly when placed in sunny areas or near an indoor light source. You may want to store original, one-of-a-kind or historic photo's in a photo safe. Use copies of priceless photo's in your scrapbooks.

DIRTY, OILY FINGERPRINTS

Fingers, big and small, have acidic oil and usually some dirt on them. Try not to touch your special photos and if you do, use a soft cotton cloth to wipe off residue before putting them in a photo-friendly page protector. (Close to My Heart's Memory Protectors are PVC-free and a great help in preserving your photos.)

MAGNETIC PHOTO ALBUMS

The glue in these albums contain TOXINS that will eat through the photographic materials. If you have old albums like these and the photos are STUCK, try loosening them with a blow dryer on low heat, or sliding dental floss between the photo and the sticky magnetic page, or place the page in the freezer. Sometimes the cold will freeze the glue enough for the photo to be popped off. The product, "Un-Do" may be an option, as well. If this is an important photo, I recommend you make a color copy of it before trying to pry it off the magnetic page.

HIGH HUMIDITY

Optimum storage for photos is about 40% humidity. Consider the location of your scrapbooks and photo albums. Use acid-free, permanent pens for journaling to avoid smearing due to humidity.

INCONSISTENT TEMPERATURES

Photo's do best in a steady air temperature between 65 to 70 degrees. Never store them in attics, near heating or air conditioning vents.

RUBBER BANDS, PAPER CLIPS, MASKING TAPE, ETC.

These physically damage photos over time. Use archival quality adhesives, acid-free and lignin-free papers and envelopes for long-term storage. Newspaper clippings are highly acidic and should be photo-copied onto photo-safe paper and the originals stored separately from photos in a safe.

ACIDIC OR NON-REVERSIBLE ADHESIVES

Make sure to use an adhesive that will not harm photos and/or migrate through the page to other pages.

UNPROTECTED PHOTOS

Photos scattered in shoe boxes or drawers will eventually become scratched or lost. Keep them safe using a Memory Page Protector that will also prevent the photo in a photo album from abrading against items on the facing page.

IMPROPER LABELING

The only SAFE method for writing on the back of photo's is to use a Blue Photo Mark Pencil or a Legacy Writer (pens with photo-safe pigment ink -- these can be obtained through Close to My Heart.) Record the who, what, when, where and why on the back of the photo.

ACIDIC & OTHER HARMFUL CHEMICALS

Never cut a Polariod photograph as this would release harmful chemicals. Be sure that the pens and inks you use on a scrapbook page are safe to use around, near or on photos. A pH testing pen is helpful when choosing to add memorabilia such as show tickets, programs, greeting cards, etc. on your scrapbook page. Questionable items can be encapsulated in a separate, sealed mylar plastic pouch before adding it to the layout. These precautions are particularly important if you are creating a one-of-a-kind historical album.

Expand Your Scrapbooking Real Estate!

Time to talk about PHOTO EDITING. We all know that sometimes our photo's are NOT perfect. There are wrinkles, blemishes or other unsightly unwanteds. The exposure could be off, the color out of balance, or distracting backgrounds that take the focus off the photo.

You and Me - scrapbook memories

I *LOVE* the May CTMH National Scrapbooking Special: "You & Me."

Had a LOT of fun putting these pages together

and thought I'd share my results:

With this first layout, I decided to do a Celebration of Sisters

using very "vintage" photo's of my sister and me. Lots of great memories in those early years.

I love these papers and the design details.

I have yet to add jouraling and

think I'll probably re-order a B&W of the photo on the right. Sometimes it works to mix B&W

with color photos but in this case, it feels like a distraction.

The second layout is of "me and my guys" -- cute hubby, cute son, cute dad.

I've been very blessed, indeed.

Side-tracked

Thought I'd take a break in the scrapbook-related theme of my posts this month

to share what's happenin' at the home-front.

Our entire plumbing system is being redone due to a faulty product used durin

g construction (12 years ago). Our subdivision was one of many who settled a Class Action Suit against the manufacturer of this product. So while we don't have to "pay" for this mas

sive job, we're paying in other ways.

Like pretty much dis-assembling our house on Sunday in preparation for Monday's construction. These pictures show the "tenting" of the house in an effort to minimize the dry wall dust from coating everything in the place.

The picture above is all you'd see as you look into our bedroom.

This picture (above) is another bedroom - you can see the pathway leading to a walk-in closet (which was completely emptied) where the cut into the wall to access plumbing in the attached bathroom.

And this shot was taken from the family room side of the house looking toward the bedroom side of the house (living room on the left, dining room, entry, front door on the right).

This is the little hallway leading past a guest bath toward my office and the laundry room into the garage. Yes, they worked in the attic, too.

So the entire house was under plastic like that.

Eight hours later, the plastic began disappearing -- carrying with it chalky white dust and who-knows-what. And these pictures show the work that took place:

Of course there's much more-- this has just been a sampling.

The majority of the work is expected to be finished by the weekend..... let's hope!

Thank goodness for wireless internet, laptops and cell phones!!

Scrapbooking helps children understand who they are and where they came from. Forge a bond with ancestors that your children may only know through stories. Photos tell a thousand stories--- you might be surprised how much your son looks like his great-grandfather at the same age. Be sure to include all the moments of your life -- the happy times, the sad times, even the in-between times.

You'll be able to provide the details others are seeking. Organizing and labeling your photographs is your responsibility (no one else knows your story). Combining the written memories of life with photographs and placing them in a readable scrapbook is the best way to bring memories to life! Remember to ALWAYS include the who, what, where, when and why with each photo.

Scrapbooking is fun, worthwhile and immensely rewarding. It's much more than a hobby -- it's an expression of life, of what you value. So much of life is a "do-over" (cooking, cleaning, laundry -- it's repetitive). Tackle the job one page at a time and before you know it you'll have a book of history that will be enjoyed for generations to come.

Scrapbooking will spark your creativity. Whether you choose to create simple, speedy pages or custom, colorful pages -- there's no wrong way to scrapbook. And the more you scrap, the more your creativity will blossom.

A focus on scrapbooking makes life fun! You'll be amazed at how often you'll find yourself taking more photographs just to go along with certain papers, color schemes, or designs. Looking for photo opportunities will become second nature. As you focus more intently on scrapbooking, you'll plan and do more things with your family and friends. Daily life may even become more interesting as you see each moment as a possible page in history!

The Scrapbooker's Bill of Rights

A Scrapbooker is entrusted with documenting and safely preserving family photos in an album to be treasured by future generations. Creating a Scrapbook is an honorable and important task. As a Scrapbooker, you are entitled (but not limited) to the following rights:

1. You have the right to take as long as you want to complete one album page. This may be five minutes or two weeks.

2. You have the right to purchase a certain scrapbook item for no other reason than because: 1) you like it, 2) you think it's cute, 3) you'll never find it again, or, 4) you know you'll use it someday!

3. You have the right to a workspace of your own. This may be the basement, your college students old bedroom, or the kitchen table. It's yours!

4. You have the right to scrapbook when inspiration strikes --whether the dishes are done or not.

5. You have the right to request peaceful, kid-free, stress-less scrap time -- guilt-free.

6. You have the right to create pages that reflect and celebrate the spirit of the one person who is usually NOT in the photograph: YOU.

7. You have the right to put whatever you want on your album page. This includes, but is not limited to: patterned paper, stamps, stencils and most important of all.... journaling! You may place as many or as few photos per page as you deem appropriate.

8. You have the right to do nothing more than snack and socialize at a 6-hour cropping party.

9. You have the right to value your personal scrapbooking style to be as important as your photographs. You are creating a treasure-- and part of that treasure is you.

10. You have the right to create your own legacy, one page at a time.

One of my favorite aspects of making a scrapbook page, or a framework for housing your pictures, is that we can make it our own, reflect our own style!

Even when two people use the same color scheme and layout pattern, the finished results are remarkably different. Case in point:

The above layout is the example for this month's Scrapbook Club. Using the "Miracle" paper kit, and following the basic pattern for this workshop, here's what I created:

My photo sizes are slightly differently (right page) and I opted to rotate the journaling box. You'll notice that I used a different stamp set for the font (using "Old World Alphabet")

I particularly love the pinwheels-- they're actually a stamp design that includes cutting lines for creating these cute things and then the centers are a stamped heart design (from the same WOTG set).

I love love love Close to My Heart products and use them exclusively! What do you think about my tweaked layout?

It doesn't look like a scrapbook? No, I guess not.... not in the traditional sense, anyway.

This cute My Creations Journal was created by Mary (a long time customer who I count as a friend!) Mary made this for one of her grand-daughters who LOVES ballet and has, in fact, performed in several ballets including The Nutcracker.

Mary's grand-daughter will, no doubt, fill the blank pages with her thoughts and musings, and probably even a few photo's.... don't ya think?

Don't turn and run for cover...... this is user-friendly, I promise!

I am about as "low-tech" as they come and I LOVE "Studio J" scrapbooking. NEVER thought I'd say it, but it's true. This is my "faster, simpler, easier" way to doing scrapbook pages.

Here's what it takes:

Create a free account at www.PaperCrafts.MyCTMH.com
Enter Studio J (using the link above and signing into your free Studio J account)
Click on "Create a New Project" and assign it a name
Upload 7 - 10 photo's (this is so easy!)
Scroll through the PAPER choices and select your kit (SO easy!)
Choose your PATTERN (just like choosing a pattern for sewing - super easy!)
Then select your KIT MIX (which can be totally customized later, if you wish)

The rest of the creating is simple and guided. Simply drag and drop photo's into the photo wells. Right click on the photo for more options (such as matting, finishing options such as sephia or black and white, etc.)

Remember the old commercials that said: "You've come a long way, baby!"?

Well that phrase comes to mind when I think about scrapbooks or photo books. Take a look at some of the oldies I discovered starting with this snappy three-ring binder:

These were part of my grandmother's collection. Back in the day I'm SURE she thought she was quite hip having these contemporary 'magnetic' books to house her photos and memorabilia.

Well, 30 years ago I thought they were pretty cool, too.
However, the years have not been kind to the photo's on those magnetic pages!
Not only did the pages turn an ugly yellow and brown, but the GLUE lines actually ATE THROUGH the photo's destroying the once-lovely and treasured photographed image.

(Isn't the yellowing attractive?!)

And do you remember *THIS* phase of scrapbooking?

Yes, the all-done-up custom covers......... oh! what were we thinking?!!

Spring Up Flowers

TRUE LOVE

True Love seems to be many things,
I saw True Love when a son-in-law took three teenage daughters shopping
To a discount store.
Or, it could be shopping with your wife on your "date night,"
Just to make her happy.
I felt True Love when a daughter that lives far away,
Called me
When I was having a very hard day,
And I needed someone's shoulder to cry on.
I feel True Love when I walk in the mornings
With the best neighbors in the world.
True Love is a phone call or a short visit
To an elderly parent or friend.
Sometimes it is baby-sitting energetic grandchildren

Blessings come in all shapes and sizes.

Sometimes the things that aren't easy and require
the most of us are the very things that bring rich blessings.

Case in point: My mom.

Admittedly, there are days when I stress about all the time that is required
in caring for her. I do my best to see that she has a visitor every day -
or at least every other day. That means, if I can't run over to the assisted
living facility to spend time with her, then I ask my husband
or one of my children to go. Thankfully, they are happy to go and
often go without my asking first!

And then there's the laundry. The facility launders her linens but I want to do her clothing. It's "one more thing to do" but it's my way of being in service to her.... something personal.

And of course there are the doctor visits, labs, medication coordination, and frequent calls from the patient care coordinator, the med tech coordinator, the case worker from her insurance company and so on.

Oh, and did I mention the bills, and checking in on the family home, keeping up on the yard work, the housework, the bills, the mail and estate management?

LOL--- you're thinking this is a full-time job, right? Well, I actually have a full-time business to run (and I love Close to My Heart and my customers and team members!), plus my own household, husband, children, grand-children, etc. etc. So yes, it's busy around here.

My sweet mom celebrated her 81st birthday last week.
She didn't even know it was her birthday (dementia has pretty much taken away her short-term memory) but my family and I wanted to make it a special day anyway to honor her.

We reserved a room at the facility, brought in a special dinner,
brightly wrapped birthday presents, and birthday cake.

My cute little twin grand-daughters each made her a bead necklace
(they were so excited to give it to their grandmama!)

My family was all there and we sang to her, she made a wish
and even blew out all the birthday candles by herself!

When it came to opening the presents, Addie & Catie were on-the-spot to "help"
(which basically meant they opened the presents FOR their grandmama, LOL).
Mom said several times that glad she was to have help opening them, LOL.
It was cute and heart-warming.
(My camera battery died so no pictures of the "helping.")

Baby Gavin was in good spirits and enjoyed the party, too!

My mom's life is also blessed by her good friends, Beth & Nell.
They visit mom on a regular basis and earlier last week they brought a pretty plant with a balloon & beautiful cards for her birthday.

Dementia can be tough but sometimes it's a blessing. I'm hoping mom didn't recognize the LACK of birthday cards from other family members. (It was disappointing to me.)

At the end of the day, as I tucked mom into bed then laid beside her
with my arm around her, the gratitude I felt for this opportunity to truly care for her in every sense of the word was overwhelming.

Yes, my life is crazy-busy-hectic and by saying "yes" to accepting this responsibility for my mom and having to say "no" to other things less important at this time of my life, I feel richly blessed.

If you know me, you know that I am always TRYING to be organized.
When Close to My Heart came out with this amazing box (whether you call it a recipe box or photo organizer -- it's ready to decorate for whatever your purpose!) I got really excited!

So I used the new SOPHIA Level Two paper kit, plus this adorable RIBBON that
coordinates perfectly with the paper, to decorate my box! So cheery!!

Did I mention that the flap of the box has this "magic" magnetic closure?

with the pretty ribbons..... "Cool, Grandma!"

Didn't take long for him to take the pilots seat....

Pennants are all the rage!
I've seen them in wrapping paper, party favors, greeting cards,
magazines, home dec, fabric, and the list goes on.

So it shouldn't be a surprise that the new

Friends - The Family You Choose!

I'm doing some "catch-up" on the blog....

and today I'm reflecting on a great week spent with friends and colleagues in January.

Close to My Heart put on a great training opportunity for top leaders in the company,
calling it "Team Builders." So plans were made.... Two long time friends traveled to my home (Naomi flew in from Seattle and Bren drove up from San Diego).
We started the fun by seeing "Menopause, the Musical" at the Luxor.
Oh my, too fun. Sadly, I could relate to the humor (we all could).

The next day we drovee to Salt Lake City for the meetings, which were amazing.
I'm so blessed to be working for a company led by top-notch people.
Our corporate execs are folks I would "choose" as friends and for whom I have deep respect.

The host hotel was great -- check out the size of this guest room:

And I REALLY love the chandelier.... one day, I gotta get me one of these!

After the meetings, we journeyed back to Vegas and the fun continued....
The three of us went to see "Donny & Marie" at the Flamingo. WHAT A FUN SHOW!! Marie sure has an impressive voice (who knew?!) and Donny, well..... he still has it!! LOL. I'd totally go to this show AGAIN (and again, and again....)

After the show, we wandered around the hotel a bit.

Donny's tux was on display, along with the Mirror Ball Trophy
that he won on "Dancing with the Stars." (Yes, I watched that season religiously!)

And THEN we found some crazy shops that, well, yes..... were great photo ops.....
(warning to my children: look away!)

It was a great week. Like my dear friend, Naomi, said: "Friends like this are the family we choose" (or something like that - probably much more eloquent but you get the idea!)
I love ya, girlfriends!

Calling All Consultants!

I am so excited to be teaming up with the CTMH Corporate staff (even the VP'S!) to bring "LeaderShare" to Las Vegas on March 19th.

Consultants will experience cutting-edge training -both in business and creative areas. It will be a fun-filled day with art contests, swaps, displays, and a fund-raiser/silent auction for exquisite CTMH creations to benefit "Operation Smile." (Come prepared team.... we want to earn enough for at least FOUR O.S. surgeries that will change the lives of four children!!)

Thanksgiving is the appointed time
for focusing on the good in our lives.

In each of our days,
we can find small blessings,
but too often we overlook them,
choosing instead to spend our time
paying attention to problems.

We give our energy
to those who cause us trouble

Yesterday was one of the most special Thanksgiving Days I can remember.
It was the first turkey day without my dad - as he passed away earlier this year.
My mom has had a tough time of it, too - between the dementia, losing dad,
and having fragile health issues. Add to the challenges, she also has a cast on her lower leg from a fall last month. She's now in a care facility where they can better meet her needs.

My amazing family rallied together and brought the feast to mom.
It was pretty cool. We reserved the "living room" at the facility where we served
a magnificent meal and simply enjoyed a relaxed afternoon together.

Mom went from severe agitation (shaking, wanting to go back to bed)
to a radiant smile when we wheeled her into the "living room"
and she saw everyone smiling and welcoming her.
It was amazing - and so heart-warming!
I'm so glad we did this!!

Mom even joked around at the table as we held our forks high-- yum!

what good sports!

Cute baby, Gavin, was content with his homemade roll....

Marty made sure mom had some jam for her roll.

We even brought our own "serving table" which was loaded with turkey,
dressing, ham, yams (regular and sugar-free), green beans, mashed potatoes
and gravy, homemade mac-n-cheese, and all the fixins!

Catie snuggled up to her daddy to pose.
The kids were all so GOOD!

The twins sure love their Uncle Trent.
They call me "my Trent."

Ashley did a bang-up job--- managing 3 little ones and STILL
able to cook-up 3 great dishes for the dinner.

At the end of the day, Marty echoed my thoughts exactly:
"I'm sooooo glad we did that."
Miss you, dad. Love you, mom.

Holiday Recipe Box

Do you have special recipes that are part of your family Holiday Traditions?

Then consider making a special box like this!

Start with Close to My Heart's "My Creations Recipe / Photo Box."

I chose the new CTMH Level Two Holiday Papers, "Mistletoe," to decorate the box.
Measure each side of the box and cut your papers to fit as you desire.
I like having the white separation between the papers
so I cut my papers slightly smaller than the box surface.

For durability, I used "Mod Podge" to cover the box and protect the papers.

Here's the recommended process:

Using a flat brush (like the one found in the CTMH Tool Box)"
apply a very light coat of Mod Podge to the box and allow to dry
(this should take only a few minutes).

When you're ready to start "papering," apply Mod Podge to the backside
of the paper (very, very thin layer) and apply to the box --
smoothing the paper to remove any pockets of air bubbles.

Last step: Another light coat of Mod Podge over all of the box
surfaces. This gives a wonderful protective coating over the beautiful
papers on your Recipe Box.

The finishing detail is the decorative "Epoxy Brad" from
the new CTMH Mistletoe Assortment (item # Z1330).
Rather than punching a hole for the brad, I chose to break off
the tails and use Liquid Glass for a secure attachment.

I love the strong, magnetic closure on this box --
thank you, Close to My Heart!

Now I can't wait to get started on another one for organizing my photos!
OH!!! The possibilities!!!
